YOUR ULTIMATE GUIDE TO CHRISTMAS IN JULY

While the weather outside in Melbourne is quite frightful, it can only mean one thing… Christmas in July is just around the corner! With everything else that is going on in the world, it would be no surprise if you have let this mid year festive celebration slip through the cracks. But it’s ok, you still have plenty of time to put on your Santa hat and hang some Christmas lights. Stuck for ideas on how to celebrate this year? Well we have 6 ways to celebrate Christmas in July this year, just for you.

1. Put Up Your Christmas Tree

With so many happy memories created while putting up the Christmas Tree, the sense of excitement, anticipation and warm fuzzy feelings – it feels a bit silly that we only do it once a year.  So lets get decorating!  Try a new colour scheme or add some fresh ornaments to add a fresh look and feel to this year’s celebration.  Don’t have access to a tree? No worries, you could add some decorations to other areas of your home, such as your table, windowsills or garden.  However big or small you would like to take it, it is completely up to you!

2. Cook Up a Christmas Feast

One of our favourite parts of Christmas has to be the mouth-watering food.   The delicious smells of gingerbread, Christmas pudding and a roast in the oven… why should this be reserved for only December?  Whether you bake up some gingerbread to share with your friends and neighbours or invite your loved ones around for a Christmas feast, complete with all the trimmings, Christmas in July is a great time to spend time with the people you love… and eat delicious food!

3. Watch your Christmas Favourites

I’m sure I’m not alone in believing that Christmas movies are way to brilliant to only be viewed only one month a year!  Whether you can’t get enough of Love Actually, laugh along with The Santa Clause Trilogy or anticipate watching The Grinch every year, why not grab a group of your loved ones, throw on an ugly Christmas sweater or a classic Santa hat and have a Christmas movie marathon this Christmas in July?

4. Decorate your Workspace

Whether you are working from home, are back in the office, or perhaps a combination of both – your workspace is somewhere that you spend a lot of time.  So why not make it a little festive this Christmas in July?  Add some tinsel, a mini Christmas tree, or your favourite Christmas decorations to share the Christmas spirit.  You may just find that your team loves Christmas just as much as you do, and this could lead to some pretty amazing office Christmas in July celebrations.

5. Spread Christmas Cheer

Everyone loves receiving gifts, so why not spread some Christmas cheer this Christmas in July with a little gift for your loved ones.  Now this doesn’t necessarily mean you need to spend hours searching in your local stores for the perfect gift or spend millions of dollars, your Christmas in July gift could be as simple as a nice hand written Christmas in July card to bring a smile to your loves ones faces.

6. Blast some Christmas Tunes

Nothing quite spreads Christmas cheer like a good Christmas carol.  Whether you are into the classic versions by Bing Crosby or prefer the more modern takes, nothing quite says Christmas like belting out your favourite Christmas carol.

So there you have it, now you are fully equipped to celebrate Christmas this July whatever your current circumstances look like.  Whether you want to incorporate all of the above ideas or perhaps just a select few, the important thing is that you have FUN and truly feel the Christmas spirit.  After all, Christmas really is too wonderful to only celebrate once a year!
